Det kommer lidt an på hvad man vil
yf[tegn] tager fra hvor du står til næste [tegn] ([tegn] incl.)
yt[tegn] tager fra hvor du står til næste [tegn] ([tegn] eks.)
y/[ord]  tager fra hvor du står hen til begyndelsen af næste [ord]
Det sidste eksempel er ikke begrænset til en enkelt linie.

Generelt er det sådan at hvis du kan finde ud af at placere
curseren der hvor du vil hen v.h.a. en kommando, så skal
der blot et y foran for at kopiere (d for at slette, c for at ændre).
