Nøglen til det hele ligger i filen elvis.ini (min ligger både i
"/usr/local/lib/elvis/elvis.ini" og i
"/usr/share/elvis-2.1_4/elvis.ini"
men de er ens, så jeg er ligeglad! Pointen er at den fil
sørger for at indlæse "passende" initialiserings scripts,
hvilket vil sige $HOME/.elvisrc (som er specifik for elvis,
og derfor ikke det bedste valg) eller $HOME/.exrc (som bør
fungere for alle vi-kloner, bedre for nogle end for andre!).
Måden at slå dette fra på er at have defineret en $EXINIT
variabel, så bliver den nemlig kørt i stedet!
