I kerne-dokumentationen finder du Documentation/networking/bonding.txt som
er værd at læse.

Der er flere måder at bond'e på; det fleste af dem kræver, at switch'en
spiller med fx ved at understøtte 802.3ad standarden. Det bør i øvrigt
nævnes, at "bonding" i mange andre sammenhænge omtales som "teaming".

Eneste problem, jeg har oplevet med bonding var på nogle servere med en
hel del netkort, hvor jeg var nødt til at pille ved max_bonds (justering i
/etc/modprobe.conf for bonding-modulet, så vidt jeg husker).

I tidernes morgen prøvede jeg noget high-availability+load-balancing af
netkort med nogle 2.4-baserede servere. Men dengang skete det ved hjælp af
nogle driver-specifikke features i nogle særlige drivere fra Intel; det
var halvbøvlet at få sat op. Det ser ud til, at den slags funktionalitet
siden er blevet generaliseret og integreret i Linux-kernen.
