Ja, og hvornår var det nu det skete for mig? Hmmm.

Så vidt jeg husker skete det når jeg hev stikket fra den ene maskine i
clusteret og den anden maskine så tog over. Så langt så godt. Men når
jeg så satte den første maskine til igen, så gik det galt, og jeg
kunne (på en af maskinerne, kan ikke huske hvilken) se en ping der så
ud i stil med:

64 bytes from 1.2.3.4 icmp_seq=3 ttl=64 time=4765 ms

64 bytes from 1.2.3.4 icmp_seq=5 ttl=64 time=2765 ms
64 bytes from 1.2.3.4 icmp_seq=6 ttl=64 time=1765 ms
64 bytes from 1.2.3.4 icmp_seq=7 ttl=64 time=765 ms
64 bytes from 1.2.3.4 icmp_seq=8 ttl=64 time=0.5 ms

Derefter svarede maskinen pænt et kort øjeblik for igen at holde en
pause på nogle sekunder. Mine maskiner kører Debian woody (ja ja, de
bliver opgraderet til Sarge så snart jeg får tid). Jeg opgraderede
først heartbeat med en version 1.2.3 fra backports.org uden at det
løste problemet. Til sidst opgraderede jeg kernen, og så var problemet
væk.

Problemet kunne også bringes til at forsvinde ved at genstarte
netværket med '/etc/init.d/networking restart', men det gider man jo
ikke her gang nogen har været klodset med hvilke kabler han har hevet
ud af en switch et kort øjeblik.
