I min .gnus har jeg:

  (setq mm-discouraged-alternatives '("text/html" "text/richtext"))

(selvom det selvfølgelig ikke er ordret at foretrække text/plain).

Tja.. fordi den bruger Emacs/W3 til at rendere HTML og det er den ikke
lige altid god til (Emacs/W3 mangler en vedligeholder).

Og måske fordi text/html mails ofte er noget skummelt HTML.
