GNU make har jeg imidlertid brugt siden '95:

En mere-eller-mindre "beskidt" mulighed:
(idet jeg forudsætter at dependencies bliver *processed*  før commands 
selv med parameteren -j)?:

#Makefile semi-sequential example
#title is merly indicative

.PHONY: default local_global_sub_dependt_targets sub

default: sub
        make local_global_sub_dependt_targets

local_global_sub_dependt_targets: $(local_global_default_targets)

sub:
        [$(make_sub_ad_lib_listing)]

Men så er du ikke sikker på at sub bliver udført før
$(local_global_default_targets)? Jeg tænket her specielt på, hvis man 
maker med
-j. Findes der en løsning på dette problem (som er vigtigt når man vil 
bruge to
processorer).

Jeg har prøvet med

$(EXE) : $(SUB)
                 bla bla

men så bliver EXE-filen lavet hver gang, og det er jo heller ikke godt.
