Ja, funktionen hedder usleep(). 
       #include <unistd.h>
       void usleep(unsigned long usec);

Er der en måde, hvorpå man kan sende SIG_ALARM signals med korte
intervaller
(0.1 sek el.ling.) ?

Hmm....tag et kig på setitimer() og getitimer():
       #include <sys/time.h>

       int getitimer(int which, struct itimerval *value);
       int setitimer(int which, const  struct  itimerval  *value,
                     struct itimerval *ovalue);
